Community Led Plans give everyone in the Community a chance to say what they think abut the issues that may effect their locality and how the would like to see it develop in the future; or not as the case may be!
Much more importantly, it is about what the Community can do for itself, to make the village an even better place to live.
This is far from a new idea, CLPs are supported by the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council (ORCC) which was formed in 1920, you can find out more about the ORCC and the CLP process on the ORCC’s site.
The Parish Council decided to see if our community had a taste for a CLP and organised a launch event on 30 April 20 13. The event was very successful with 60 of so villages attending the meeting, as a result a Steering Committee was formalised.
Over the last year the group attended a number of events including the very successful first Spring Fayre for a number of years, the Beer Festival and the Firework night to gather opinions from villages.
Following these consultations the group produced a questionnaire which was delivered by hand, by a wonderful team of volunteers, to every house in the Parish and then collected by hand too. The 76% response rate was fantastic! The group presented their initial findings to a very well attended meeting on 28 March and is now working towards a report which it is hoped to publish in September 2015.
It is important to understand that this initiative is being driven by the Community for the Community and is supported by the Parish Council, members of whom are present on the Steering Committee.
