Fringford Freewheelers are the village cyclists.
Usually meeting up once a month on either the first Saturday or Sunday, they arrange a gentle route which is suitable for all.
Plans for 2017
Finally the weather is improving so it’s time to polish up the bikes and hit the road.
To accommodate people’s weekend commitments for 2017, the rides will alternate between Saturdays and Sundays. Based on this the riding schedule for 2017 is as follows, weather permitting of course:
Saturday 8th April – read the ride report here
Sunday 14th May – read the ride report here
Saturday 10th June – read the ride report here
Sunday 9th July
Saturday 12th August
Saturday 9th September – to be part of the sponsored Ride and Stride for the local churches
This may work out to be a slightly longer ride but with frequent stops at every church visited and tea, squash cake and biscuits available at each one so a much more leisurely ride and a great opportunity to see inside many of our local churches. Please let us know who can make this ride beforehand and if you are unable to make it then perhaps you can consider sponsoring one of the riders in the group as it is all for a great cause. Last time we visited approximately 20 churches as it is amazing how many there are within close proximity to Fringford.
Saturday 14th October
Meeting at 10:30am at the village hall for each ride.
The rides will be limited to 18 miles with a drinks stop on route.
Anyone who wishes to join the group is more than welcome and we have a closed Facebook group “Fringford Freewheelers” that has posts and more up to the minute information as and when pertinent.
