Progress Report – 22nd September
It’s hard to believe that the renovation of the hall only started in June this year. What a fantastic transformation has taken place since then. Contractors have been busy over the summer holiday constructing the timberframe extension and providing all the primary services such as plumbing, electrics, insulation, plastering…… the list goes on.
The main hall has also had a much needed facelift and has been insulated and decorated to give it a totally different look and feel.
We were able to re-open the main hall to regular hirers as promised on Monday 7th September. We are very grateful to the main contractor, Link Groundwork and Development, for their unstinting commitment to the project and high-quality workmanship, to the hirers for their understanding and cooperation and to Fringford School for offering us alternative accommodation at crux times. Work continues until the end of September during which the car park will remain out of action, access to the hall for hirers will be via the old Fire Exit door and toilets will be available in the car park.
The new hall will be open for business in early October and you will hopefully be amazed by the improvements that have been made which include:
- New energy efficient heating system
- Upgraded electricity supply
- Broadband
- Insulated main hall with new lighting and decoration
- New kitchen with dishwasher and tall fridge
- New toilets
- Impressive porch entrance
- Store room with access into the main hall
- New much larger Chinnery Room with underfloor heating and tall ceiling
For those of you who have not been able to observe the developments, there is a photographic diary here on the website.
We are very excited by the transformation in looks, efficiency and size and look forward to welcoming you at our launch event on Saturday 7th November, if not before. So please hold the date and look out for more information coming soon.
