As part of the Shelswell History Festival we plan to stage a Community Play based on material from Keith Dewhurst’s Lark Rise to Candleford plays and from ‘More Tales from Lark Rise’ by Betty Timms.
The play will largely be produced over the weekend of the Festival. The cast will be involved in rehearsals on Saturday 8th July and Sunday 9th July, and will then perform the play at 5pm. The grand production will be followed by a pig roast and barn dance.
There are parts for all sorts of people of all ages with all sorts of experience! If you would like to be involved in this exciting project then come along to an open workshop on Sunday 29th January, 2 – 5pm in Stratton Audley Church. There may be 2 – 3 other rehearsals for children with key parts at later dates.
As well as actors, we will need people to help backstage and with sound and lighting. If that could be you, please let us know.
The performance will be supported by the Birmingham Repertory Opera Company, and we also hope there will be local dance groups involved.
It would be great if you could register your interest by contacting Ellie Goodall, 01280 848192 or [email protected]
